Progress in flotation de-silica

Abstract:Flotation de-silica from the diasporic-bauxite is one of the key basic research projects. It aimed to reveal the scientific mechanism between the crystal structure and surface properties, structure-properties of effective flotation reagent as well as the solution chemistry of flotation and interfacial interactions in the flotation system of diaspore and aluminosilicate minerals. It will underlay the new technology of reverse-flotation de-silica. The technology is important to enhance the mass ratio of Al2O3 to SiO2, decreasing the silica content and energy consumption in producing aluminum oxide and economically utilizing the diasporic-bauxite in China.
