X-RAY POWDER DIFFRACTION DATA AND STRUCTURAL REFINEMENT OF Er3Co6Sn5 ①

Abstract:The compound Er3Co6Sn5has been studied by means of X-ray powder diffraction technique and refined by Rietveld method. The compound Er3Co6Sn5has an orthorhombic Dy3Co6Sn5-type structure, space group Immm (No.71),Z=2 andDx=9.465g/cm3. At room temperature, the lattice constants area=4.296 6(4) ,b=12.289 7(9) ,c=9.627 1(6) . The Rietveld structural refinement was performed and led toRwp=0.196 andRp=0.153. The figure of meritFNfor the X-ray powder diffraction data isF30 =34.7 (0.009 0, 96). The present structural refinement supports that Er(1), Er(2), Co(1), Co(2), Sn (1) and Sn(2) atoms occupy the 2a, 4g, 4j, 8l, 2cand 8lpositions, respectively.
