STRENGTH AND DUCTILITY OF Ni-Cu-BASE ALLOY MONEL K-500

Abstract:Characteristics of work hardening and age hardenig of Monel K-500 have been investigated. Results revealed that, under aging conditions (below 600℃), work hardening is dominant besides, γ' precipitation induced volume expansion can decrease the plasticity and ductility of the alloy, but optimization of the amount and the size of γ' phase can improve the plasticity and ductility of the alloy. Then , the optimum age-treating procedure was determined.
